E30 E36 E46 Dual master brake booster delete instructions

This is what is included in the e46 kit.
You can order MCs and balance bar from your usual supplier.
I prefer Tilton's 72-250 balance bar.

In this turnbuckle assembly, some threads are RH and some are LH. You can adjust length by turning the turnbuckle, as well as turning the hexagonal aluminum rod. I prefer doing the length adjustment at the turnbuckle as it is more accessible.

Adjust the rod end and the hexagonal threaded rod so that the stop nut doesn't contact with the lever when in the most forward position.

The pedal box can be fitted with the MCs below the mounting centerline or above the mounting centerline

Insert lever and linkage from the pivot side.

Torque the pivot nut until there's no play but that the lever rotates freely.

The spacing between both MCs is 2.5", you therefore also want the MCs clevises to be spaced 2.5" apart and centered on the spherical bearing. Which means the clevis' centerline must be 1.25" from the spherical bearing.

MC pushrods used to come in various lengths but not anymore. Therefore you must cut it yourself. Length of the pushrod is 80mm beyond the flange. I suggest popping the rubber dust boots and remove the clip. You'll then be able to pull the pushrod and cut it safely. Pushrods are very cheap. So if you missed the measurement or the cutting, don't panic. Buy another one.

Screw the pushrod into the clevis until the balance bar is perpendicular. Your balance bar kit came with a stop nut, please use it.

Install the second clevis. Must be 2.5" from the other one. Center to center. Then fit the second MC.

Now remove the brake pedal and cut the metal tab. Refit the brake pedal.

Now. As you can notice, there's an opening in the firewall since you have removed the brake booster. I suggest plugging the hole with a rubber boot such as this one. Purchased off eBay.

Install the pedal box, through the firewall and the aluminum pedal tower.

Fit the custom clevis, boot, and install the clip

Voilà. The twin MC booster delete kit is installed. This was a basic how-to. The functioning principle of this pedal box is the same as for those other mechanical pedal boxes.
